With desire and interest in the arts starting before college, I suppressed my right brain to follow careers in engineering, management and business while the painting supplies stayed in the basement.  When I retired from “regular work” a few years ago,  I was able to let the left brain relax. I started using the right half and thus a hidden artist emerged.

I like the feel of paint on canvas so the vast majority of my work here will be paintings.  The flow of oil and the ability to move it on the surface makes it my favorite.  I do use acrylics where the circumstances or subject may keep oil’s properties from being the best choice.

I take pleasure in being able to paint a variety of subjects.  On this site you will find landscapes, seascapes, still life and portraits.  Subjects include animals, birds, people and architecture. I am a resident of Parrish Florida but we escape the summer heat and humidity to spend time on a northern Michigan lake so you will see subjects from both states and some in between.

I paint for relaxation and personal growth, but, as many have said, art is communication.  I hope my work might communicate with you.  Thank you for giving me a chance.
